Hemingway MB Lee Middle School has a proud history of fulfilling its mission to educate and empower the young people of the Hemingway community. Since its founding, the dedicated faculty and staff have remained committed to inspiring scholars to discover, cultivate, and maximize the greatness within themselves.
As a Title I school serving sixth through eighth grade students in Williamsburg County School District, Hemingway MB Lee Middle School plays a vital role in the educational journey of scholars in the Hemingway, SC area. Each day, our school strives to equip students with both academic excellence and the life and career characteristics defined by the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate.
We hold high expectations for all students and are working diligently to provide rigorous, standards-aligned instruction that will elevate achievement across all core content areas. With a focus on preparing students for success in high school and beyond, we emphasize mastery of content, critical thinking, and strong digital literacy skills.
Through our 1:1 technology initiative, all scholars are equipped with Chromebooks, offering opportunities to collaborate, problem-solve, and create. These tools empower students to thrive in an ever-evolving technological world.
Our teachers engage regularly in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs), where they share best practices, analyze student data, and refine instruction based on real-time student work. In addition to core academic instruction, students benefit from a diverse selection of electives and extracurricular activities, ensuring a well-rounded educational experience.
Aligned with Williamsburg County School District’s call to action to Imagine Greatness, Hemingway MB Lee is focused on shaping students who are not only academically prepared but also grounded in character education and responsible citizenship.
We recognize that parental involvement is key to student success. We host regular parent conferences, Title I workshops, and family events to ensure open communication and provide families with resources and strategies to support their child’s learning and growth.
At Hemingway MB Lee Middle School, we remain steadfast in our commitment to preparing every scholar for college, careers, and citizenship through a rigorous, supportive, and inclusive learning environment that embraces diversity, fosters achievement, and celebrates the potential in every child.
