Kingstree Middle Magnet School of the Arts (KMMSA) is a varied fine arts magnet middle school for grades 6 through 8, serving approximately 400 children in the Kingstree region with an academic curriculum, fine arts programs, and extracurricular activities. Kingstree Middle Magnet School of the Arts is facilitating the development of world-class talents and essential life characteristics outlined in the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate by offering a secure, supportive, and intellectually stimulating educational environment. We provide a constructive educational atmosphere centered on our mission: “The mission of KMMSA is to establish a creative, caring, and collaborative learning environment in which individual student needs are met by forming creative partnerships with all stakeholders.” The mission of our school is upheld by objectives aimed at enhancing student performance and fostering ongoing professional development for educators to address the academic and social requirements of the students. We are committed to meeting the educational needs of students, alongside their social, emotional, and physical development.
At Kingstree Middle Magnet School of the Arts, we prioritize our students' academic development and achievement. The KMMSA staff is dedicated to delivering exceptional service to our students and their families. Implementing best practices in reading, mathematics, and fine arts in grades 6th-8th contributes to enhanced academic achievement. We strive to offer students opportunities to take responsibility for their learning, thereby fostering a sense of ownership. The school, in conjunction with the school-wide planning team and the School Improvement Council, has effectively implemented and accomplished programs and objectives through the engagement of volunteers, businesses, and community partnerships, including family literacy workshops, parenting programs, and comprehensive academic initiatives. Our ever-growing fine arts department has also provided creative outlets for scholars and the community.
Kingstree Middle Magnet School recognizes the significance of parental engagement. We will persist in fostering and sustaining a partnership between parents and the community by coordinating, integrating, and communicating with relevant agencies to develop programs and activities that encourage and enhance parental involvement in their children's educational advancement. Furthermore, to further advance the professional development of a competent and unified staff, fostering an effective learning environment that enables children to achieve academic success.
Kingstree Middle School will prioritize maintaining a secure learning environment for scholars throughout the 2025-2026 academic year. Faculty and staff will participate in comprehensive professional development as we continue to strive for the holistic development of each child. The fine arts department has designated KMMSA as a magnet school. Consequently, we aim to enhance the artistic and intellectual capabilities of our students. The KMMSA Jaguar family will consistently endeavor to be academically, culturally, and socially equitable, as well as developmentally sensitive, ensuring that all students learn in a secure and student-centered environment. We recognize that, although the faculty and staff at KMMSA are committed to ensuring that every child reaches their full potential and receives an excellent education, we require and appreciate the support of parents and the community. We will continue to analyze our assessment data to refine our methods and ensure that our scholars at KMMSA have access to optimal educational opportunities.
