Rudolph Gordon School is a unique K-8 STEAM school offering a world-class, student-centered educational experience for all learners. As we move into the 2025 school year, we continue to build on our strengths—most recently by deepening our Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) and driving improved outcomes for students. Serving approximately 1,650 students, we are a fully accredited school committed to preparing students from kindergarten through eighth grade for success.
Our school is dedicated to equipping all students with the World Class Skills of the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate through robust STEAM experiences and a strong emphasis on Project-Based Learning. In partnership with families and the community, our mission is to develop lifelong learners and responsible, productive citizens by creating meaningful learning opportunities in a safe, nurturing environment. This commitment ensures our students acquire the knowledge, skills, and life and career characteristics needed to be college and career ready.
Students at Rudolph Gordon School engage with rigorous academic standards and participate in activities that foster problem-solving, research, collaboration, and the meaningful use of technology. Our state-of-the-art facility provides collaborative spaces for inquiry-based learning grounded in engineering principles, and we offer a dedicated STEAM lab and Makerspace that encourage exploration, design, and hands-on discovery.
At the elementary level, we continue to place a strong emphasis on building foundational reading skills to ensure long-term student success. Hands-on reading and math strategies are embedded into daily instruction, and writing is prioritized across all subject areas. As students transition into middle school, they have opportunities to explore diverse interests through courses such as fine arts, communication, Gateway to Technology, and Medical Detectives. Our Professional Learning Communities help strengthen vertical alignment, ensuring our instruction remains data-driven, student-centered, engaging, and differentiated to meet the needs of all learners. At RGS, we believe every student can learn and deserves opportunities to reach their fullest potential.
Our comprehensive school counseling program, built on the ASCA Model, includes five school counselors who provide whole-group lessons, small group sessions, and individual support tailored to student needs. Counselors also lead “lunch and learn” opportunities that introduce students to career pathways and options beyond high school. This program is data-informed to support the whole child. In partnership with Greenville County Mental Health, we proudly house a full-time, certified mental health counselor on campus to serve students through family referrals. Classroom teachers build strong relationships and create safe, supportive environments that foster social-emotional learning.
Rudolph Gordon School is honored to be part of the Fountain Inn community. We believe that community partnerships enhance student success, and our school, in turn, serves our broader community. Our active PTA collaborates with faculty and staff to strengthen the home-school connection, while our School Improvement Council plays a critical role in shaping our strategic plan and sharing our annual progress with the community.
This past year, our students exceeded both state and district averages on SCReady assessments. Beyond academics, we offer a wide range of extracurricular experiences, including a vibrant middle school athletics program, intramural sports, fine arts, robotics, and numerous clubs.
As we look ahead, we remain dedicated to engaging students in learning that emphasizes problem-solving, cooperative learning, and teamwork—preparing them to become world-class leaders. We are excited to continue striving toward our fullest potential. Come experience our Gator greatness!
