Lakeview Middle School Report Card Narrative - 2025
Lakeview Middle School is committed to helping all students develop the World Class Skills outlined in the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate. During the 2024-25 school year, our dedicated faculty and staff worked diligently to foster an environment that prioritizes academic excellence, critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and effective communication.
Our students continued to achieve significant academic gains, as evidenced by improvements in standardized test scores and classroom assessments. These accomplishments are a testament to our students' hard work and our teachers' unwavering dedication to high-quality instruction and individualized support.
As we look forward to the 2025-26 school year, Lakeview Middle School is excited to continue in the second year of our comprehensive school transformation initiative, Elevate. This initiative focuses on several key areas to ensure our school continues to thrive and meet the evolving needs of our students:
1. **Retaining and Hiring the Best Teachers**: We recognize that exceptional teachers are the cornerstone of student success. Elevate implements strategies to attract, retain, and support high-quality educators who are passionate about their subjects and committed to our students' growth.
2. **Developing a Culture of Excellence and Inclusivity**: Elevate aims to cultivate a school culture where every student feels valued, respected, and empowered to achieve their full potential. Toward that end, all Lakeview Middle staff are highly trained on creating a welcoming environment and setting conditions that nurture student success and wellbeing.
3. **Parent and Community Involvement**: We believe that strong partnerships with parents and the community are essential for student success. Elevate enhances our existing engagement efforts through regular communication, volunteer opportunities, and events that bring families and community members into the educational process.
4. **Transforming Lakeview**: Our goal is to create a dynamic and innovative learning environment that prepares students for the challenges and opportunities of the future. Elevate supports the integration of cutting-edge technology, project-based learning, and real-world experiences into our curriculum.
As we transition into the 2025-26 school year, we are also excited to transition the principalship from Jennifer Couch to Towers Rice. Mr. Rice has worked with Ms. Couch for over a decade in education as teacher, instructional coach, and administrator and is thrilled to build on her vision for school transformation. We are confident that this second year of the Elevate initiative will help us build on our current successes and drive Lakeview Middle School towards new heights. We are committed to fostering a supportive and challenging educational experience that equips our students with the skills they need to excel in high school, college, and beyond.
