At Greenville Middle Academy, we are committed to helping all students develop the World-Class Skills outlined in the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate by providing a safe, inclusive, nurturing, and academically rigorous learning environment.
Rooted in a shared vision, our administrators, faculty, and staff work in close partnership with parents and students to deliver a strong liberal arts, interdisciplinary education that cultivates creativity, critical thinking, collaboration, and communication. Our mission is to collaborate with families and the community to offer diverse and academically challenging experiences that prepare young adolescents to become self-directed, confident, lifelong learners in a rapidly evolving technological world—and productive citizens in a democratic society.
Academic Excellence with a Global Perspective
Our school's magnet program emphasizes reading, writing, and the social sciences—alongside STEM disciplines—ensuring that students are well-prepared for advanced academic opportunities. Greenville Middle offers a variety of high school credit courses, including Algebra I, English I, Spanish I, French I and II, Band I, Orchestra I, and Art I. We are proud to host the district's only French Immersion middle school program, which builds upon the early immersion foundations established at the elementary level.
We also offer a rich selection of Fine Arts and Related Arts courses, including Band, Orchestra, Chorus, Art, Yearbook, Media Literacy, Global Studies, Physical Education, and World Languages. Our music programs—chorus, band, and orchestra—are consistently recognized among the best in the district and state. Through the study of the arts and world languages, our students gain global awareness, resilience, and self-direction.
Embracing Innovation and Opportunity
Technology is seamlessly integrated into the learning experience at Greenville Middle. Students explore courses such as Google Basics, Computer Technology, Multimedia Basics, and Gateway to Technology modules, including Design and Modeling, and Automation and Robotics. College and career exploration is embedded throughout the school year, helping students connect their learning to future pathways.
Supporting the Whole Child
We believe that middle school is a crucial time for growth and transformation. Our commitment to the Whole Child Tenets—Healthy, Safe, Supported, Engaged, and Challenged—ensures a well-rounded educational experience for all students. Our school counselors provide critical support during the transition into and out of middle school, working closely with students, families, and teachers to foster strong home-school partnerships.
Teachers at Greenville Middle engage in ongoing professional development and collaborate in professional learning teams to monitor student progress, refine instruction, and foster academic success. Additionally, our partnerships with community organizations, local businesses, and faith-based groups enhance our ability to provide comprehensive support to every student.
Leadership, Service, and Student Life
Our students grow as leaders through diverse opportunities in clubs, organizations, and athletics. Sports teams include baseball, softball, basketball, soccer, and volleyball. Leadership and service organizations include RAMmbassadors, Peer Mentors, Intramurals, National Junior Honor Society, and Student Council. These experiences help our students build confidence, teamwork, and civic responsibility.
Community Engagement
Our School Improvement Council (SIC) and Parent Teacher Association (PTA) play vital roles in guiding school initiatives, supporting student activities, and responding to community needs. We are deeply grateful for the many hours our volunteers dedicate each year—Greenville Middle's continued success is rooted in this strong and supportive community.
Greenville Middle Academy proudly builds upon a Tradition of Excellence, preparing students for college, careers, and lifelong success as global citizens.
