Our school is helping all students develop the World Class Skills of the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate by fostering a learning environment grounded in the Power of OUR—On fire for kids, Unwavering in our support for each other, and our Relentless pursuit of academic excellence. These guiding principles drive our daily work and reflect our deep commitment to preparing students for success in an ever-changing world.
At Woodmont Middle School, we believe that building critical thinking, collaboration, communication, and creativity starts with a strong, supportive culture. Through strategic instructional practices, data-informed decision-making, and personalized learning opportunities, our students are challenged to think deeply, solve problems, and engage meaningfully with content. Our teachers collaborate regularly to align instruction to rigorous standards and incorporate innovative strategies that meet the diverse needs of learners.
As a certified STEAM school, we offer a variety of opportunities through Project Lead the Way (PLTW), including hands-on courses in design, engineering, medical detectives, computer science, and automation. These offerings are carefully aligned to career pathways, allowing students to explore real-world applications and continue their interests in related programs throughout high school and beyond. Beginning in the 2025–2026 school year, we are proud to integrate arts-integrated curriculum across content areas through a grant awarded by ArtsNOW, enhancing student engagement, creative expression, and interdisciplinary learning.
We are proud to share that our students achieved a 100% pass rate on the Algebra 1 End-of-Course (EOC) exam, a testament to their hard work, the dedication of our teachers, and the effectiveness of our academic supports. This milestone reflects our unwavering commitment to high expectations and student success in rigorous coursework.
We are also proud to partner with Michelin North America through a mentoring program that connects our students with positive role models from the local workforce. These mentoring relationships build confidence, character, and career awareness while reinforcing the importance of soft skills and personal growth.
To celebrate student success and strengthen community connections, we host an annual Block Party Celebration at the end of each school year. This highly anticipated event welcomes hundreds of families, community members, and local partners to campus to recognize student accomplishments and showcase the vibrant culture of Woodmont Middle. We have also expanded our student incentive programs to promote academic achievement, positive behavior, and personal growth—motivating students to excel through recognition, rewards, and meaningful celebrations.
We proudly provide our students with opportunities to excel in the arts through visual art, band, chorus, and drama. Their talents are regularly featured in art shows, musical performances, and community showcases, giving students a platform to build confidence, creativity, and communication skills.
We promote strong character and interpersonal skills through programs such as PBIS, student leadership, restorative practices, and targeted support initiatives. Our staff is dedicated to professional growth and continuous improvement, ensuring we provide a learning experience that reflects the values outlined in the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate.
At Woodmont Middle, we are not just preparing students for high school—we are preparing them for life. The Power of OUR ensures every student is supported, challenged, and inspired to become a capable and confident contributor in a global society.
