Johnsonville Middle School
At Johnsonville Middle School, our mission is to provide every student with a diverse and comprehensive education in a safe and supportive environment that promotes self-discipline, respect, motivation, creativity, and academic excellence. Through this commitment, we aim to nurture confident, knowledgeable, responsible, and productive citizens who are equipped to thrive in an ever-changing world. Our success is founded on the strong partnership between dedicated teachers and engaged parents, working together to ensure the highest level of achievement for all JMS students.
We continue to advance student learning through the effective use of the i-Ready online assessment and instructional program. This tool enables teachers to create individualized learning pathways, helping students achieve proficiency and measurable growth in both reading and mathematics. With clearly defined yearly and stretch goals, i-Ready helps close achievement gaps and drives student progress. Our Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) meetings play a critical role in regularly reviewing student data and progress. Supported by our Literacy Coach, MTSS Coach, instructional tutors across grade levels, and active participation in school-wide and grade-level Professional Learning Communities (PLCs), our team collaborates strategically to meet the unique learning needs of every student. Additionally, teachers hold regular team meetings and collaborate to provide targeted support and interventions in reading and math during the Enrichment period, ensuring all students receive personalized instruction to maximize their growth.
Beyond academics, Johnsonville Middle School offers a diverse range of extracurricular programs to cultivate well-rounded individuals. Students can take part in activities such as Incentive Celebrations for Academic and Behavioral Excellence, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Academic Challenge Team, Junior Crusaders, Beta Club, JMS Talent Show, FSD5 Drama Cast, Cool Beans Reading Café, Show Choir, and JMS Athletics. Our “B” football team, created in partnership with ninth-grade students from Johnsonville High School, along with successful JMS basketball teams supported by enthusiastic cheerleaders, highlights our strong athletic community. Additionally, many middle school athletes join high school sports, including volleyball, tennis, baseball, softball, golf, and track, which reflects our commitment to student growth in all areas.
Our vision at Johnsonville Middle School is to empower all stakeholders—students, staff, families, and community partners—to pursue a pathway to excellence. Together, we foster a passion for learning and cultivate lifelong habits that equip our students for future success. We are committed to equipping every student with world-class skills that enable them to excel academically, artistically, and athletically.
