During our redesigned Wildcat Advisory Dens, students are exposed to lessons that incorporate the World-Class Skills of the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate.
Another way our students at DuBose Middle School learn the World-Class Skills is through our array of award-winning fine arts programs, health and wellness programs, and athletic teams. The DMS Band and Steel Band programs are regularly adjudicated at the highest levels and continue to win national awards. The DMS Chorus, Piano, and Orchestra programs regularly bring home Superior ratings at local and state competitions. Additionally, DMS students may improve their health and wellness through a variety of middle school athletic programs and after-school clubs. Our Wildcat athletic teams continue to have successful seasons on the field and in the classroom. Our DMS Health and Wellness Committee continues to develop and implement initiatives that improve the physical, mental, and emotional health of faculty, staff, and students. The DMS Running Club participated in a variety of local runs with participants from each grade level and our faculty and staff.
At Charles B. DuBose Jr. Middle School, students are not only taught critical thinking and problem-solving skills inside the classroom but also through a variety of after-school clubs. Students can choose from Lego Robotics, Vex Robotics, STEM Club, Chess Club, Archery Club, Fishing Club, RPG Club, and Gardening Club. Our students and staff maintain a Katie’s Krops school garden with the bounties going to needy families in our area, including two annual free Community Dinners hosted in the DMS Cafeteria.
Lastly, community and parent involvement are essential to our school family. We strongly encourage all parents and guardians to take an active role in their child’s education. Families can get involved by volunteering as chaperones, participating in Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA) events, and supporting various school programs. We believe that nothing is more important than a child’s education, and we welcome every opportunity for families to be engaged partners in the learning journey.
