C.E. Williams Middle School (North Campus for 6th grade and South Campus for 7th and 8th grades) is committed to developing the world-class skills outlined in the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate through high-quality instruction, academic support, and social-emotional learning.
Our interdisciplinary teams and professional learning communities (PLCs) foster collaboration and community while remaining developmentally responsive to the unique needs of middle-level learners. Core and exploratory classes are aligned to South Carolina state standards and enriched through Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math (STEAM) as well as foreign language opportunities.
To support critical thinking and problem-solving, we individualize instruction through flex periods, adaptive software, and data-informed interventions. Regular formative assessments help identify trends and target instruction, ensuring all scholars receive the support or enrichment they need.
Social-emotional learning is delivered through weekly lessons designed to foster collaboration, teamwork, and effective communication. Our implementation of the AVID framework deepens college and career readiness through strategies focused on Writing, Inquiry, Collaboration, Organization, and Reading (WICOR).
A positive culture is reinforced through PBIS, celebrating both academic and behavioral growth. Scholars participate in field trips, performances, social events, and recognition programs to foster connections and motivation.
CEW also values strong school-family partnerships. We host monthly parent workshops and offer resources to support families. Additionally, a wide range of extracurricular opportunities enables scholars to discover and develop their unique interests and talents.
At CEW, we are committed to being academically rigorous, developmentally responsive, and socially equitable. Our mission is to equip all scholars with the world-class skills, knowledge, and character they need to succeed in high school, college, and careers in an ever-changing global society.
