Moultrie Middle School continues to provide students with a learning environment where academic excellence, leadership, creativity, and character development are valued and celebrated. Our faculty and staff remain committed to preparing students for future success by fostering the world-class skills outlined in the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate while ensuring every student feels connected, supported, and challenged.
Student involvement remains a cornerstone of the Moultrie experience. Through a wide variety of extracurricular opportunities, students are encouraged to explore their interests, develop leadership skills, and build meaningful relationships. Organizations such as Junior Beta Club, Student Advisory Committee, Women In Charge, quiz bowl, student government, gardening club, cooking club, chess club, and news team provide opportunities for students to serve their school and community while growing as leaders.
Moultrie also takes pride in offering students a rich and engaging academic experience. In addition to a strong core curriculum, students have opportunities to participate in courses such as advanced art, jazz band, medical detectives, green architecture, flight and space, app creation, and automation and robotics. Students may also earn high school credit through courses including Algebra 1, Geometry, English 1, Spanish 1, French 1, and Discovering Computer Science Parts 1 and 2.
Supporting the needs of every learner remains a priority. During the 2025–2026 school year, we expanded math intervention opportunities to provide additional support for students needing targeted instruction and enrichment. We also continued to strengthen services for Exceptional Education and Multilingual Learner students through collaborative planning, specialized support, and participation in the district's Multilingual Learner Cohort. These efforts reflect our commitment to ensuring all students have access to the resources necessary for success.
Beyond academics, Moultrie remains dedicated to supporting the whole child. Programs such as Be A Mentor connect students with caring adult role models who provide encouragement and guidance throughout the school year. Our Sand Dollar Club continues to offer support and connection for students who have experienced the loss of a loved one, helping students navigate difficult life experiences in a safe and caring environment.
The Patriot spirit of service continues to thrive throughout our school community. Students participated in numerous service-learning projects and awareness initiatives, including Autism Awareness Week, World Kindness Day, Anti-Bullying Week, and Unity Day. Through partnerships with organizations such as Toys for Tots, the Lowcountry Food Bank, Pet Helpers, Charleston Promise Neighborhood, the Lowcountry Down Syndrome Association, and the United States Armed Forces, students learned the value of giving back to others. This year, our Angel Tree initiative was able to support more families than ever before thanks to the generosity of our students, staff, families, and community partners.
Moultrie students continue to excel in a variety of academic and extracurricular pursuits. This year, we proudly celebrated another student earning a place among the Top 10 finalists in the Charleston County School District Spelling Bee. Our student journalists and yearbook staff continued their tradition of excellence, receiving recognition for producing an outstanding publication that captures the memories and achievements of the school year.
Our performing arts programs remain a source of tremendous pride for the Moultrie community. Students in band, orchestra, and chorus continue to earn recognition and awards at the district and state levels while consistently demonstrating outstanding talent, dedication, and school pride. These programs provide students with opportunities to develop creativity, discipline, and teamwork while representing Moultrie with excellence.
The accomplishments of this school year reflect the hard work of our students, the dedication of our faculty and staff, and the unwavering support of our families and community partners. Together, we continue to build a school culture where students are empowered to learn, lead, serve, and succeed.
