Legion Collegiate Academy, home of the Lancers, serves high school students in a safe, small, family centered environment. Students at Legion strive to achieve success through a rigorous Honors and Dual Enrollment curriculum as well as our Elite Athletic Program. Our partnerships with the University of South Carolina at Lancaster and York Technical College provide students an opportunity to graduate with up to 60 hours of transferred Dual Enrollment credit. Our split schedule model provides students many opportunities for leadership development, service to community, part time employment, athletic development, and personal growth as we strive to serve the whole child. Our enrollment of over 613 students continues to increase as we strive to meet our goal of 640 students by August of 2025.
The success of our model is evidenced through our Class of 2025. Legion had a 100% high school graduation rate for the third time in 4 years. 58% of the Class of 25 graduated with GPAs over 4.0. Nineteen students completed high school with over 48 hours of Dual Enrollment credit. Five students earned Associates Degrees and 3 earned Professional Trade certificates from our college partners, York Technical and the University of SC at Lancaster, Athletic success was reflected by 57% of our senior athletes signing letters of intent to play at the collegiate level.
Our Freshman Academy provides an anchor for our newest Lancers. This program allows students to transition to high school expectations with ease and is filled with opportunities to develop life and career characteristics supporting the Profile of a High School graduate. Through collaboration, problem solving and student driven projects, students apply higher order thinking and complete the Academy with a greater sense of self and the grit required to continue in our elite program. Many complete their freshman year ready to begin Dual Enrollment by the second semester of their sophomore year.
Our unique initiative, Lancer Life, addresses the social/emotional/wellness needs of our students. The Connection, available to all Lancers and their families, has provided assistance with mental health needs, family guidance, career counseling, safety, and college preparation opportunities such as Capstone for our Senior Class.
As we move forward into a new year, Legion is proud to maintain an exceptional staff of highly qualified and dedicated faculty and coaches. The best is yet to be as we continue to grow a rich history of service to others, success, and pride.
Onward Lancers! Swords Up!
