Oceanside Collegiate Academy Narrative
Oceanside Collegiate Academy is a charter school servicing students in 9th through 12th grade. Oceanside Collegiate Academy (OCA) will serve high school students in a safe, small, family-centered environment who seek the opportunity and challenge of rigorous curriculum, high academic standards, and elite athletics while earning up to two years of college credit. Our students are engaged in creativity and innovation as well as collaboration and teamwork.
Our commitment to creating college and career ready graduates is evidenced by our students’ success. The Class of 2025 (164 students) were offered approximately $11 million in scholarships. Additionally, 82% of the Class of 2025 were awarded the Life Scholarship and 13 students earned Palmetto Fellows. During our 2024-2025 school year, Oceanside students earned almost 5,000 college credits and thus saved themselves and their families at least $4 million in tuition, college textbook fees, and living expenses. Our EOCEP scores are in the top percentage in the state and our students outperform their peers around the district, county, and state.
In addition to our outstanding data, our school culture exemplifies the positive relationships our school community exudes. Being a Landshark, means you continue to learn, show grace and grit and step up to expectations. Our staff goes above and beyond, and cares about the individuals seated in their classroom.
Oceanside Collegiate Academy provides graduates with world-class knowledge by providing rigorous standards in language arts, science, social studies, and math for college and career readiness by integrating a modified schedule. Students are offered rigorous coursework through Dual-Enrollment and Honors classes.
Our REEF program, offered in ninth grade, introduces all new Landsharks to our school culture and offers topics such as goal setting, studying/test-taking tips, social coping skills, geography, ACT/SAT Prep, and other topics which would be usually addressed through classroom guidance daily. All faculty collaborate yearly to modify the REEF curriculum to suit the ever-changing needs of our students.
Graduates from Oceanside are equipped with appropriate life and career characteristics in order to be both college and career ready. Students are offered the opportunity to develop integrity, self-direction and interpersonal skills through elite athletics, delivered by an experienced and professional coaching staff; an incredibly active and involved student leadership program; a REEF program; and various clubs and organizations which meet monthly during the school day throughout the year. Our graduates are prepared to enter the world of work, military, or post-secondary education equipped with the skills needed in order to find success.
Go Landsharks!
