We are proud to continue our tradition as a Five Star School, developing the World Class Skills of the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate through a wide range of programmatic opportunities. South Pointe’s designation as a STEAM School of Choice exemplifies this commitment, offering students awareness, exposure, and preparation for college and careers in science, technology, engineering, arts, and math.
Our faculty and staff are deeply engaged in ongoing professional development and collaborative planning to ensure high-yield strategies are implemented daily in every classroom. Students benefit from unique learning experiences that emphasize both academic rigor and real-world readiness.
During the 2024–25 school year, South Pointe has seen continuous growth and innovation. To enhance STEAM learning, we have invested in modernized spaces and technology that complement our state-of-the-art makerspace, a hub for creativity and collaboration. Exciting additions include an aerospace flight simulator for Aerospace Engineering, an Anatomage virtual dissection table for Health Science and Biology courses, and “The Pointe,” our student ran school store developed in partnership with Founders Federal Credit Union.
We continue to challenge students to maximize their potential by enrolling in rigorous coursework, including honors level classes, Advanced Placement (AP), and dual-credit opportunities. We are also proud to host the South Carolina Governor’s School for Science and Mathematics (GSSM) on our campus, now in its eighth year at South Pointe. GSSM provides students with advanced coursework and the opportunity to earn college credits toward a degree at a state university.
Beyond the classroom, South Pointe students work alongside counselors and families to design individualized pathways aligned with career goals. The Applied Technology Center expands these pathways with specialized courses that complement our STEAM programs. In addition, students may pursue world languages such as Spanish and French, and explore the social sciences through courses like AP Psychology, Sociology, and Criminal Justice.
Our Fine Arts programs continue to shine, with students earning recognition in Chorus, Band, Visual Arts, and Theatre Arts. Through the district’s 1:1 technology initiative, every Stallion has access to a personal laptop for learning at school and home. We are also proud to be a Leader in Me School, providing students with critical leadership and life skills that prepare them to embody the qualities of a South Carolina Graduate.
Student life thrives at South Pointe, with more than 30 clubs, organizations, and athletic teams that promote academic growth, community service, and school spirit. Our Student Council leads the way with service projects, spirit weeks, and event support, creating a vibrant culture where every student feels connected.
Athletics are a source of great pride, with our motto “Where Champions Are Made” extending beyond the field to the classroom. Every athletic team maintained a cumulative GPA above 3.5, and over 100 student-athletes achieved a GPA of 4.0 or higher. Our students, clubs, and organizations continue to earn recognition at local, state, and national levels for their excellence and leadership.
Through internships, job shadowing, and college and career readiness programs, South Pointe students gain valuable experiences that prepare them for college, career, or military service. Events such as our annual College and Military Signing Day celebrate student achievements and honor their commitments to future pathways.
None of this would be possible without the unwavering support of our parents, community partners, and stakeholders. Together, we are building a strong, collaborative school community dedicated to ensuring every student thrives.
It’s truly a great time to be a Stallion. We remain committed to being a Five Star School, Providing Five Star Service.
This is South Pointe!
