“BE Ready” was the theme for Woodruff High School during 2024-2025 school year. Students were encouraged to ask themselves, “Why should we BE Ready?”  To be ready means to be prepared mentally or physically for some action or experience.  Students were encouraged to BE Ready for the unexpected realizing they are not alone and can rely on their high school experience to prepare them for just that, the unexpected.  Woodruff High School prepares students through its academic rigor, its foundation in discipline, its athletic tradition, and its many opportunities to get involved. The community also aids in the BE Ready mindset thanks to their continued support of academic rigor, co-curricular excellence, and facilities that are second to none. The US News and World Report ranked Woodruff High School as the number one high school in Spartanburg County.  The senior class received a cumulative total of $4,203,972 in scholarships. Over seventy percent of the class received some scholarship award. Ninety-six seniors received LIFE Scholarships, and seven seniors were named Palmetto Fellows.  Additionally, two seniors received the prestigious South Carolina Academic Award.

In addition to an excellent academic year, Woodruff High School had another outstanding year in the visual and performing arts.  Six seniors collectively won 15 Eastern Scholastic Awards.  One senior was awarded the Youth Art Month Presidential Award. Two seniors received awards through the Converse Emerging Young Artists. One senior received third overall at Focus on Youth Exhibit.  This senior class led the Woodruff High School Marching Band in several successful competitions during the twenty/twenty-four season and achieved third in Upper State and fourth overall in State competition.  The concert band received a Superior with Distinction rating at Concert Performance Assessment for the first time in school history.
Success was also achieved in the athletic venue.  Woodruff High School produced forty-one scholar athletes. Nine teams were region runner-up.  Sixty students were named All-Region athletes. Sixteen Woodruff High School athletes were named All-State athletes.  Moreover, Woodruff High School had one athlete selected to an All-Star team and seventeen teams reached the playoffs.  

During the 2024-2025 school year, Woodruff High School continued to emphasize self-discipline, student involvement, communication, and caring attitudes. Throughout the school year, the “BE Ready” initiative of Woodruff High School grew not only inside the school but outside the school as well thanks to the involvement and commitment of the community, the students, and the staff.
Our goal in the 2025-2026 school year is to uphold the Woodruff High School tradition of leading the state of South Carolina in academic achievement, athletic accomplishments and artistic endeavors.
