Chesnee High School is committed to ensuring every student develops the world-class skills as well as life and career characteristics outlined in the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate. We emphasize innovative instructional practices, data-driven instruction, and Professional Learning Communities Teacher Learning Teams (TLTs) that focus on high-impact teaching strategies aligned with state standards.
Our teachers use student data to personalize learning by name and need, minimizing instructional loss and ensuring all students are prepared for success. Academic recovery opportunities including hour-long lunch supports, SLT, and Saturday sessions allow students additional time to master essential skills.
We continue to expand opportunities for students to engage in rigorous learning. With increased dual credit offerings and Advanced Placement courses, students experience college-level coursework before graduation. Programs such as Swofford Career Center, JROTC, Work-Based Learning, Jobs for America’s Graduates (JAG), Senior Project, job shadowing, and book clubs give students multiple pathways to build world-class skills and career readiness. Our Response to Intervention (RTI) program pairs struggling students with mentor teachers, while our ESOL supports including professional learning and on-site instruction; ensure success for English learners.
Through our Early Release Wednesdays, teachers collaborate across disciplines to strengthen instruction. Guided by the High Impact Process, we focus on Visible Learning and Teacher Clarity; developing learning intentions, success criteria, and common assessments so, students become assessment capable visible learners who understand their goals and progress.
These efforts produced outstanding results in the 2024–2025 school year. Chesnee High School graduated 151 students, who are all prepared for college, career, or military service. Collectively, the Class of 2025 earned over $11 million in scholarships.
We are proud of the growth of our students and staff, and we are confident that Chesnee High School is on the right path to ensuring every graduate embodies the knowledge, skills, and characteristics of a South Carolina Graduate.
