The past year has been one like no other before, where our student body, faculty, and community continued to embrace and embodied our slogan, "Together We Rise!" As a school, we continue to review academic data and adjust our curriculum and programs to meet the needs of every student. Additionally, our extra-curricular activities have expanded and have experienced significant success. Our fine arts department continues to win multiple state-level awards. Three AP Art students participated in the Greenville County Schools Art Show. One student won first place in the Fibers/Crafts category. The Thespians won Excellent and Superior ratings at the District Theatre Festival. The Band program had four All State performers, sixteen students that were selected for All-Region Band. Also, we had eighteen students selected for All-County Band. In addition, the Band program had the following accomplishments; Easley Tournament of Bands Grand Champion, Best overall Music, Visual, Color Guard, Percussion, and General Effect, highest Score in program history with a 96.00, 4th Place at South Carolina 4A State Marching Competition, Pendleton Marching Classic High Overall Color Guard and Percussion, CWEA Mauldin Winterguard AA Class Champions, Winterguard program promoted to A Class (Highest Class a Scholastic Guard can achieve), Indoor Winds CWEA Premier, CWEA Pickens, CWEA Indian Land Grand Champion, WGI Clayton Winds Regional Champions (National level competition), CWEA Championships Indoor Winds Grand Champion (Undefeated Indoor Winds Season), #1 Ranked Nationally Scholastic A Indoor Winds, Superior rating at CPA, 29 Superiors and 1 Excellent at Solo and Ensemble, and Outstanding Performance Award (Highest honor a South Carolina Band can receive). One of the TRHS Future Teacher Academy students earned a Teaching Fellowship Scholarship. We had ten students that earned their language proficiency. The Spanish Honor Society had nine students achieved their Silver Seal of Biliteracy and one student achieve Gold Seal of Biliteracy. Our Future Farmers of America students had an award-winning year. Two students earned Greenhand Degrees, five-chapter degrees, one American degree, placed Bronze in National Horse Judging CDE, 2nd in the state in Floriculture CDE with the high individual, 3rd in the State in Agriculture Mechanics.Our Student Council demonstrated our strength in student leadership by raising money for charities during our December toy drive and Spirit Week during the second semester. Athletically, we continue to experience growth in our success, with multiple playoff berths, Region Championships; Wrestling, Boy’s and Volleyball, Individual Region Champions include; three wrestlers, eight Track and Field athletes, All Region Athletes include; two Baseball, four softball, one girls soccer, two Boys Golf, eighteen Track and Field, one Girls’ basketball, six wrestling, one boys basketball, two girls volleyball, one girls tennis, one girls golf, seven cross-Country, nine swimming, All State Athletes include, one baseball, six Track and Field, four wrestling. All-Star Athletes; include two softball, one wrestler, and one baseball. Three Region Coaches of the Year. Three Individual State Champions. As always, we maintain a commitment to continuous improvement. We saw significant increases in Algebra 1, Biology 1, and English 2 end of course exams. In addition, we maintained our Graduation Rate from last year. We study our school-wide data constantly and make the necessary adjustments to our instructional program. Looking forward to the 2025-2026 school year, we are making the required adjustment to maintain our quality educational program in the face of ongoing budget challenges. These are just a few of our accomplishments and efforts to ensure that Travelers Rest High School will continue to be the best possible school for our students.
