Our school is helping all students develop world-class skills of the Profile of the Graduate by offering a rigorous academic program with three levels of instruction and has a continued goal to maintain high expectations for all its students. Having received the honors of Palmetto’s Finest, High School and a Flagship of Promise, Riverside emphasizes and challenges all students to improve and succeed in reading, mathematics, and critical thinking skills.
Riverside offers coursework, allowing our graduates to be successful in any area of college study as well as choose a career pathway. The majority of Riverside students have indicated their interest in health sciences, science, engineering, math, technology, the arts, and communication. We offer a diverse curriculum that allows our students to pursue their path to success. Students have the options to take a variety of AP and Dual Credit Courses, obtain an AP Capstone Diploma, participate in our nationally recognized fine arts program, and enroll in a host of Career and Technology pathways (PLTW, Business, Health Science, and Teacher Cadet). Additionally, Riverside students have the opportunity to grow through community service, peer tutoring, teacher cadets, athletics, and a wide variety of clubs and organizations. These activities help develop leadership, time management skills, and civic responsibility.
The student body brought many honors and accomplishments to Riverside. The Speech and Debate team received First Place in South Carolina for the fourteenth year in a row and was named a Speech School Honor at the National Speech and Debate Association Tournament, award-winning SC AAAA Marching Band and Award-Winning Orchestra. Riverside High School had 8 National Merit Scholarship Finalists, 45 Palmetto Fellows, 325 LIFE Scholarships, the Class of 2025, and over 15 million in college scholarships. Students performed at the highest level in Greenville County with the Top AP Passage Rate, and top SAT, and 95.44% % students from the class of 2025 graduated College or Career Ready. In 2025, our Athletic program finished 8th in the AAAAA Directors Cup and has captured 98 State Championships.
The community has served as an invaluable partner with the faculty and students. 2024-2025 was a very busy year for parent and community involvement. Parents contributed thousands of hours working athletic events, in the school store, and hosting a Career and Job Fair Day. Even with a much larger facility and more students, Riverside continues to strive to maintain its high level of academic excellence to meet the needs of all students and prepare our graduates for success.
