Lake City High School is located in Lake City, SC and serves approximately 475 students in grades 9-12. Our school is helping all students develop the World Class Skills of the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate by promoting an environment conducive to learning with high expectations for all students. We believe that each child is unique and can learn when operating in a safe, consistent, and engaging environment that fosters emotional, intellectual, physical, and social growth. The mission of Lake City High School is to ensure all students are College and / or Career Ready and are Responsible and Productive members of society.
All students at Lake City High School are issued a technology device at no cost. Students are able to access all of their classes and assignments through Google Classroom. The school operates on a four by four block schedule with a 45 minute Advisory block.
Lake City High School continues to grow and offers students opportunities to participate in work-based learning through internships and shadowing options. Our CTE program offers courses in Culinary Arts, Masonry, Health Science, Firefighting, Building Construction, and Automotive Technology. In addition, we have partnered with Florence Darlington Technical College to offer Welding, HVAC, and Industrial Maintenance (IMT) at The Continuum in Lake City, SC. Several of our students also participate in dual enrollment courses through Francis Marion University.
LCHS is a Leader in Me School that teaches and promotes the use of the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. Utilizing this program has provided leadership and academic skills that have improved the academic performances and leadership opportunities for a broad spectrum of students. In addition, we are a PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) school that promotes positive behavior and safety for all students.
Our teachers continue to participate in Professional Learning Communities (PLC’s) to enhance their pedagogical practices and their ability to analyze data to intentionally drive instruction. In addition to school and district level professional development opportunities, many of our instructional staff participated in off-site professional learning opportunities and / or conferences sponsored by the South Carolina Department of Education, Leader in Me, and other content specific conferences.
The administration, faculty, and staff of Lake City High School remain committed to ensuring success for all students. Our goal is to ensure all students have a plan when they graduate whether that be a four year institution, technical college, military, or the workforce. We are extremely appreciative for the support from parents and the community as we embark on this endeavor.
