Cheraw High School is a comprehensive institution committed to equipping students with the knowledge, skills, and experiences needed to reach their full potential. Our diverse course offerings, Career and Technology Education (CTE) programs, and extensive extracurricular activities are designed to support academic achievement, career readiness, and personal growth.
We offer two foreign languages, four Advanced Placement (AP) courses, and a wide range of CTE pathways, including Plant Science, Health Science, Accounting, Web and Digital Communications, Business Information Systems, Building Construction, Electricity, Firefighting, Programming and Software Development, and Horticulture. Additionally, our Marine Corps Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (MCJROTC) promotes leadership, citizenship, and service.
Our rigorous curriculum challenges students to think critically, solve problems, and develop literacy and writing skills essential for success in college and beyond. Teachers use interactive instructional strategies to promote engagement and achievement, working diligently to ensure that every student makes progress toward both academic and personal goals.
Each year, students and families collaborate with school staff to create and update Individual Graduation Plans (IGPs). These plans guide students through course selections aligned with their career aspirations and postsecondary goals. Families also receive essential information about college requirements, scholarships, and workforce opportunities.
Beyond the classroom, Cheraw High offers a range of extracurricular activities—including athletics, clubs, band, and service learning—that foster teamwork, leadership, and perseverance. Our students regularly participate in meaningful community projects, such as Relay for Life, blood drives, and Adopt-a-Highway, which help them grow into responsible and compassionate citizens.
