Wagener-Salley High School is helping all students acquire World Class Skills aligned with the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate. We will accomplish this by integrating activities into our school curriculum that are designed to develop our students’ critical thinking and communication skills. During the 2024-25 school year, we created a strategic plan that will help us focus our efforts on preparing every student with the skills necessary to be college and career-ready. In this plan, faculty and staff will receive training to support our expectation that each student graduates with the knowledge required to transition into a two- or four-year college or university, and graduates have the critical thinking and problem-solving skills necessary to prosper in today’s workforce.
During the 2024–25 academic year, Wagener-Salley High School proudly celebrated outstanding achievements in our Agriculture CTE pathway. Our students placed in the top five statewide at the South Carolina State Soil and Land Evaluation Competition, earning the opportunity to compete at the National Land and Range Judging Contest in Oklahoma City, OK. There, they finished in the top half nationally and outperformed all other teams from South Carolina.
Our Cosmetology students also excelled at the Association of Cosmetology Salon Professionals (ACSP) State Competition, held in collaboration with the Career Center. One of our students earned first place in the Braiding category, and our team—alongside other students from the district—was honored with the School of the Year award.
These accomplishments reflect the students’ dedication, hard work, and valuable skills developed through our CATE programs.
Our school and its stakeholders look forward to honoring our school’s past, and contributing to our school’s success in the future!
