Libertas Academy, Boiling Springs is a classical public charter school serving students in grades 4K–8. We are dedicated to achieving both excellence and equity as we help students attain world-class knowledge, develop world-class skills, and embody the life and career characteristics outlined in the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate. At the heart of our mission is a rigorous, research-based curriculum—Core Knowledge Language Arts and Eureka Math—that equips students with a strong foundation of enduring and shared knowledge.
Students deepen their understanding of academic concepts through hands-on learning opportunities that bring the curriculum to life. Field trips, classroom projects, and real-world experiences are thoughtfully designed to align with the South Carolina College and Career Readiness Standards, helping students make meaningful connections between what they learn in the classroom and the world around them.
Our educators engage in ongoing professional development to strengthen their instructional practice and promote continuous growth. Collaboration is central to our school culture—teachers and instructional support staff work in teams to plan instruction, address student needs, and eliminate barriers to success. This collaborative approach fosters a supportive environment where students build interpersonal skills, resilience, and a strong work ethic.
Family and community partnerships are also integral to our success. Our Parent Organization provides essential support through volunteerism, fundraising, and event coordination. We instill in our students a deep appreciation for service through initiatives such as Veterans’ Day recognition and outreach to local nursing homes.
Libertas Academy is also committed to the character formation of our students and to developing the next generation of informed, virtuous American citizens. Daily lessons grounded in the Core Virtues program cultivate values such as integrity, responsibility, courage, and perseverance—traits essential to both personal success and engaged citizenship.
Technology is thoughtfully integrated into instruction to enhance student learning. Each grade level has access to Chromebook carts and a variety of standards-based digital tools that support communication, research, and creativity. Teachers utilize laptops, document cameras, and interactive panel boards to create engaging and responsive lessons tailored to student needs, including enrichment and remediation.
We invest in resources to support academic intervention and enrichment. All students participate in a daily 30-minute intervention block focused on building foundational literacy and math skills. Our Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) team—comprising knowledgeable staff across departments—oversees targeted strategies to accelerate student growth. As our school continues to grow, we are expanding our intervention team to ensure we meet the evolving needs of all learners.
As part of our commitment to preparing students for future success, Libertas Academy has expanded to include eighth grade, in line with our vision of adding one grade level each year. We are proud of the academic and personal growth our students are achieving and remain dedicated to their continued success.
