Ebenezer Avenue Elementary embraced the theme of "Empowerment" this year, a value embedded in our revised mission and vision, shaped collaboratively with input from staff and stakeholders. We are committed to empowering ALL Eagles to take ownership of their learning, to lead with confidence, and to contribute meaningfully to their community and beyond.
A major milestone this year was launching our first year as a Leader in Me school. Grounded in the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, this framework has provided a shared language for leadership and personal growth. Students eagerly stepped into leadership roles in their classrooms and throughout the school. Events such as our Student Leadership Nights highlighted our students' voices and showcased how they are growing as leaders—at school, at home, and in their communities.
Throughout the year, we remained focused on our commitment to student progress and growth. Our educators focused on meeting each learner’s needs through small group instruction, targeted supports, instruction, and engaging, hands-on learning experiences. Students explored integrated units in science, connected with expert speakers, and participated in meaningful projects that fueled curiosity and deepened their understanding. Our commitment to student progress will remain a focus in the upcoming year.
Our staff continued to grow professionally, engaging in high-quality development and refining instructional practices. Rubric data from PLCs showed notable improvement in collaboration. Strong professional learning communities helped us align efforts, reflect on student outcomes, and take strategic next steps—further strengthening our collective teacher efficacy.
At Ebenezer Avenue Elementary, empowerment is more than a theme—it’s a daily practice. We are proud of how our students are progressing, leading, and thriving. As we continue this journey, we remain dedicated to nurturing leadership, academic excellence, and a sense of belonging for every Eagle.
