Our mission is to prepare students with practical, real-world skills while fostering a culture of service, personal growth, and excellence in communication, collaboration, creativity, and critical thinking. In alignment with our district’s vision—To Learn, Serve, and Give as ONE—we are committed to building strong relationships, meaningful connections, and supporting the development of each child, including their social and emotional well-being.
As a learning community dedicated to continuous improvement, the 2024–25 school year was marked by a deep dive into student-centered practices. Our educators embraced strategies that promote student voice, choice, and ownership of learning—creating dynamic classrooms where engagement, problem-solving, and personalized instruction thrive. Professional development played a key role, with staff participating in training focused on high-impact collaborative practices and goal setting.
One of our greatest strengths is the incredible team that makes up the Cotton Belt family. From classroom teachers to interventionists, instructional coaches, arts educators, mental health professionals, special education staff, administrators, and district partners—our village works together to cultivate the World-Class Skills outlined in the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate. Every day, our students are met with high expectations, unwavering support, and a sense of belonging. This year, we proudly celebrated their growth through events like the CBES Growth Parade.
We also recognize the vital role families play in student success. Our School Improvement Council (SIC) continued initiatives to strengthen academic outcomes and deepen family-school engagement. Meanwhile, our Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO) enhanced school culture through events that brought families and staff together, reinforcing a strong sense of community and shared purpose.
Looking ahead to the 2025–26 school year, our focus remains clear: refining Tier One instruction, strengthening our collaborative practices, delivering targeted interventions and enrichment, and using data to drive achievement. Together, we are committed to meeting the comprehensive needs of our students and celebrating their progress every step of the way.
