At E.P. Todd School, we believe every child can succeed—and with the right support, they will achieve. As a Title I schoolwide program, we receive federal funding to strengthen instruction, provide interventions, and engage families in ways that help all students grow academically, socially, and emotionally.
Current Needs: Where We’re Growing Next
Despite the progress, we know that belief alone isn’t enough—targeted work is still needed:
- Many students in the “approaching” range need more support to move into proficiency.
- Multilingual learners and students with disabilities continue to score below state averages.
- Science and social studies need to be more fully integrated into daily instruction.
- Family survey response rates remain low, limiting input that helps shape schoolwide decisions.
2025–2026 Title I Goals
Our priorities this year focus on both equity and excellence, and include:
- Academic Interventions: Reading specialists and math support staff will serve small groups in grades 3–5 to close achievement gaps.
- Early Literacy: Teaching assistants in K–1 will lead small-group phonics sessions using structured routines aligned with LETRS training.
- Professional Collaboration: Teachers will meet regularly in PLCs to align expectations and analyze data using the PDSA cycle.
- Family Engagement: Todd Together events will now include academic learning stations, and student-led conferences will help families track progress firsthand.

2024 - 2025 Highlights
- Kindergarten Readiness has improved from 27% to 48.5% over the past two years
- iReady Growth shows strong gains in reading and math, with more students moving into Tier 1 (on grade level)
- 76% of our Multi-Language Learners met their ML Goals
- 30% of our Multi-Language Learners test out of the ML program
- 12% of our Second Grade Students tested into the Odyssey Program (gifted/talented) for the upcoming school year
- Teacher-Led Committees and Professional Development opportunities increased during the 2024 – 2025 school year
- Hosted our first-annual Sneaker Ball under the leadership of Student Council
- Beta Club participated in a Mobile Meals Project
- Upper El Montessori students sewed and donated 100 surgical caps for children in the hospital
- Family Participation has been enthusiastic and growing.
- School-Wide Family Picnics began this year as a response to Hurricane Helene
- Through SAM, the Promise Neighborhood Grant will provide a Site-Coordinator to further develop school-community relations
