Our school is helping all students develop the world class skills and life and career characteristics of the Profile of the Graduate by continuing with our leadership focus. Today's students need the skills and confidence to succeed as leaders in the 21st Century. They need to be able to communicate clearly, work as a team, be self-motivated and be analytical thinkers. Our students need the organizational and technical skills to compete in a global society. We believe it is our responsibility to develop our young students as leaders by providing them with the skills that will allow them to handle themselves in any given situation. Leadership is the foundation of everything that we do at Pauline-Glenn Springs Elementary School. During the 2024-2025 school year, our students continued participating in The Leader in Me process and celebrated many personal and academic accomplishments through Leadership Days, goal-setting, data notebooks, and student-led conferences. Students continued to apply Dr. Steven Covey's 7 Habits of Highly Effective People to their everyday lives. Our school is now one of 27 schools around the globe who have achieved Leader in Me Legacy status.
Our 2024-2025 school-wide goals were:
1. To have 100% of our students to participate in a classroom leadership role
2. To raise $10,000 through our PTO's PAWS Fundraiser to give back to our school
Every student had a leadership role, and we raised over $27,000 through our PAWS Fundraiser. We continued to use technology to help students develop world class skills. Chromebooks provided by our district enabled 100% of our students to communicate and express their creativity and innovation through use of programs such as Google Classroom, Google Skype, Blend Space, Smore, Padlet, Canva, and ActivInspire. We continued to implement iReady Reading and Mathematics into our curriculum. Our Literacy and Math Coaches worked to assist teachers with planning and instruction and to ensure continuous improvement towards providing High Progress Literacy classrooms and to improve Tier 1 math instruction. With the assistance of our PTO, new furniture was purchased for our school's Media Center. We continued to implement the Olweus Anti-Bullying Program. Students participated in weekly class meetings to discuss concerns and solutions pertaining to bullying. Pauline-Glenn Springs Elementary School appreciates the strong involvement of our District Administration, Board of Trustees, PTO, School Improvement Council, parents, volunteers, and business partners. We look forward to the wonderful opportunities that lie ahead for our school as we continue along our journey of developing future leaders!
