At O.P. Earle, we're dedicated to inspiring and educating students, helping them develop into creative, innovative thinkers equipped for the future. We use research-based instructional strategies and provide authentic, hands-on experiences that build crucial "world-class skills" and "life and career characteristics." Our comprehensive curriculum spans language arts, mathematics, science, technology, engineering, and art, all designed to meet the rigorous South Carolina Graduate profile. We integrate technology to boost creative and critical thinking within a collaborative learning environment.
Our highly qualified educators lay a strong groundwork in literacy, numeracy, and communication. Our vibrant classrooms and hallways showcase student engagement, while daily meetings cultivate social and emotional development, reinforcing our core values: OPE Cardinals are"Responsible, Respectful, and Safe." As an Arts in Basic Curriculum institution, the arts are integral to learning, woven into math, science, and problem-solving through inquiry-based, hands-on approaches.
To prepare students for a dynamic world, we emphasize versatility. Through robust community partnerships, grants, and dedicated faculty, O.P. Earle offers unique opportunities such as Creative Writing, 2D Needle Felting, Acting, Pottery, Fiber Art, Honors Chorus, and Student Council. Our Guidance Department, along with our cheerful puppet program, "Joe Knows," actively fosters and celebrates essential attributes like integrity, perseverance, and positive interpersonal skills.
Our exceptional teaching staff is the heart of our mission. They continually enhance their instructional quality through diverse professional development, advanced degrees, and workshops. To further strengthen foundational literacy, all K5-3rd-grade teachers are undergoing intensive training in the LETRS reading program. We have already started to see the positive results of this program.
We deeply appreciate your continued partnership in inspiring and educating our young learners.
Sincerely,
Brian E. Murray, Principal
