At Bradley, we are committed to helping all students develop the world-class skills outlined in the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate. We achieve this by integrating creativity and innovation into our instructional approach through research-based practices, targeted interventions, and engaging students in critical thinking and problem-solving activities.
During the 2024–2025 school year, our primary focus remained on student achievement, particularly in literacy and mathematics. We worked diligently to ensure the academic success of every student by employing student-centered instruction, a strong core curriculum, research-based strategies, and a comprehensive Response to Intervention (RtI) framework. Our third through fifth-grade students also benefited from the AVID program, which supports college and career readiness.
An intervention block was embedded into the daily schedule, allowing teachers to assess students' individual needs in reading and math and provide differentiated instruction accordingly. This effort was further strengthened by the support of certified interventionists and retired certified teachers, who led small-group instruction for students requiring additional help. Their contributions significantly boosted students' confidence and proficiency in key academic areas.
Collaboration through Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) and regular data meetings allowed teachers to review assessment results, share instructional strategies, and group students based on their learning needs. Data-driven instruction remained central to our efforts to personalize learning and promote academic growth.
We also prioritized family, community, and stakeholder engagement. Our Parent-Teacher Association (PTA), School Improvement Council (SIC), and school-wide events provided valuable opportunities for connection and collaboration. The success of our family workshops, focused on reading, math, and test-taking strategies, reflects the strong support we receive from our school community.
Additionally, we are grateful for the continued support of our faith-based and community partners, including Eastminster Presbyterian Church, Grace Fellowship Church, Grace Church of Columbia, Christ Covenant Church P.C.A., the Barron Afterschool Program, and 21st Century Learners. Their involvement has been instrumental in mentoring our students and supporting our staff. Support from the PTA, SIC, local businesses, and nonprofit organizations has dramatically enriched our school's initiatives and programs.
Bradley provides a nurturing and supportive environment where leadership is cultivated, and students are prepared for real-world success. Our school theme, "From Ideas to Careers... Success Starts Here," captures our vision to spark innovation, motivate learners, and transform ideas into lifelong goals. We remain steadfast in our mission to empower students with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to succeed in school and beyond.
