Pine Grove Elementary School helps all students develop the world-class skills and life and career characteristics of the Profile of the Graduate by providing an environment conducive to learning in all academic areas. Pine Grove Elementary strives to educate children, develop strong home/school relationships, and maintain partnerships within the community. Our mission is to be a leader in transforming lives through education by empowering all students to reach their full potential and achieve their dreams.
Our staff comprises thirty-eight certified staff members and thirteen classified staff members. Two administrators and two teachers have doctoral degrees. The faculty and staff members participate in ongoing professional development activities.
Critical Thinking: As a staff, we will continue to use research-based instructional strategies, our reading and math interventionists, and our reading coach to increase academic success. The Visible Learning Foundation will continue to drive critical thinking within our classrooms, and AVID best practices will continue to drive effective instructional practices. Our Positive Behavior Intervention Support (PBIS) continued implementation, focusing on responsible student behavior and restorative justice practices.
Collaboration: Our Parent-Teacher Organization and School Improvement Council continue to encourage parental involvement and civic engagement in our students’students' education. Our annual Parent University offers parents the opportunity to participate in various workshops that provide with hands-on experience with instructional strategies designed to support learning. Our annual Pine Grove Ball continues to be a great success, allowing community businesses to partner with our school and for students to showcase their talents outside of the classroom. The Foster Grandparents program provides volunteer services in classrooms, and volunteers from the SC Department of Education and Costco served as reading tutors with students. Our faith-based partner, Pine Grove A.M.E., continues to render outstanding support through their volunteer services and financial sponsorship to our school.
Pine Grove Elementary will continue to strive for academic success for all students through developing a community of learners in each classroom and positive parental involvement.
