We serve students from Pre-K through fifth grade with a dedicated and highly motivated staff.
CES maintains its commitment to technological advancement with all students having access to Chromebooks. Classrooms are equipped with Promethean devices and laptop computers. Technology is integrated into daily instructional practices.
On-going professional development continues to be a priority to enhance teaching and learning. During the 2024-2025 academic year, our staff engaged in ongoing professional development focusing on the Implementation of the Science of Reading (LETRS), SC 4.0 Rubric, ADEPT, data analysis, small group instruction, Research-based best practices.
Innovative initiatives continue to enhance the learning experiences of students at CES. CES has adopted the MTSS framework to provide targeted support to all students based on their individual needs. We have enhanced our Tier 1 instruction, particularly in literacy. We have implemented the use of phonemic awareness and phonics-based instructional resources for Pre-K through third grade. Our reading interventionist provides small group instruction to support ELA. Our after-school program continues to provide additional learning opportunities and support for students beyond regular school hours.
One-to-one technology continues to be implemented at all grade levels. iReady has been implemented to be utilized as an assessment and intervention program during school hours and at home for the academic success of our students.
Regular celebration of student achievements in academics and attendance. We are continuing the implementation of Positive Behavioral Interventions and Support (PBIS). As a school, we recognize students displaying positive character traits and at district-level recognition for outstanding character and leadership.
We remain committed to aligning all lessons with rigorous standards and helping students reach their highest potential. The life and career characteristics of perseverance, integrity, and work ethic are encouraged through positive reinforcement.
At Clio Elementary School, we pride ourselves on being Cavaliers "Where Learning Never Ends". We continue to work diligently to improve teaching, learning, and academic achievement for all students, preparing them for success in an ever-changing global society.
Mrs. Sharena McDuffie served as the School Improvement Council Chairperson. Dr. James McCall served as the principal at Clio Elementary School during the 2024-2025 school year.
