Narrative 2025-2026
This year, our school transitioned to Hampton Intermediate School, now serving grades 5 and 6. While our name and grade configuration have changed, our mission remains the same: to provide all students with a high-quality education that prepares them to succeed in an ever-changing world.
At Hampton Intermediate, we are committed to developing the whole child—physical, emotional, social, and cognitive well-being. We support this through daily classroom morning meetings that address students’ social-emotional needs, schoolwide wellness initiatives that promote healthy lifestyles, and differentiated instruction designed to meet the needs of every learner. Additionally, our students and staff enjoy engaging in the STEM Lab, where students participate in hands-on, integrated lessons that build critical thinking and problem-solving skills. In the lab, students explore innovative tools and activities such as virtual reality (VR), robotics, green screen projects, and Lego engineering challenges. These experiences are intentionally connected to core subjects, helping students apply academic concepts in real-world contexts and develop skills that prepare them for future college and career opportunities.
Teamwork and collaboration are central to our success. Data is used to guide our decisions and inform instruction. During twice-weekly PLC meetings, teachers collaborate around four guiding questions: What do we want students to learn? How will we know if they have learned it? How will we respond when students struggle? How will we extend learning for students who are already proficient? Additionally, monthly staff meetings focus on safety and schoolwide instructional goals, ensuring that all initiatives are aligned to support student success.
To further strengthen our school culture, we have implemented Ron Clark’s House System as part of our positive behavior interventions. This system celebrates positive behaviors and has helped foster a supportive, encouraging environment where students thrive.
We believe that the responsibility of educating our youth is shared among the school, families, and community. To support this partnership, we maintain daily communication with parents through Hornet agenda books and provide updates through district and school social media platforms, newsletters, Parent Square, and the school website. This consistent communication ensures that families remain informed about events, opportunities, and emergencies.
We are deeply grateful for the continued support of our families and community as we work together to prepare our students to become successful learners, graduates, and future leaders.
