During the 2024–25 school year, this tradition has been strengthened through the dedication of our staff, students, families, and local leaders. Together, we have maintained high standards while striving for continuous improvement.
We are proud of the accomplishments and recognitions earned this year. Our students outperformed both district and state averages across all grade levels and subject areas on the SCReady assessments, reinforcing our commitment to educational excellence and the success of every student. Additionally, we are thrilled to celebrate Chelsey Troutman, who was named the 2024–25 Greenville County Schools Teacher of the Year—an honor that reflects the dedication, talent, and professionalism of our exceptional staff.

HMH and LETRS Training: Educators participated in consistent professional learning sessions and coaching cycles aligned with the GCS Literacy Framework and 2023 SCCCR ELA Standards. These opportunities increased teacher confidence and strengthened integration of HMH resources into daily instruction.

Vertical Team Meetings: Monthly cross-grade collaboration fostered the sharing of best practices and reinforced instructional alignment. Teams reported improved continuity in reading instruction, contributing to stronger outcomes across grade levels.

Classroom Observations and Feedback: Ongoing instructional observations focused on literacy framework implementation, use of HMH resources, and Science of Reading principles. Teachers received timely, actionable feedback that supported refinement of instructional practices. Observational data revealed higher student engagement, increased critical thinking, and stronger alignment with ELA standards.
As a result of these efforts, Tier 1 reading instruction has been significantly strengthened. Students showed marked improvements in their ability to connect ideas, apply new learning, and master grade-level standards. Enhanced collaboration among teachers and visible professional growth have laid a strong foundation for future literacy success.
