Augusta Circle Elementary School is a traditional public school located in the heart of a vibrant urban neighborhood in Greenville, South Carolina. Serving approximately 600 students, Augusta Circle is a cornerstone of its community and has a proud legacy of academic excellence. The school has earned multiple prestigious honors, including recognition as a National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence, a Palmetto’s Finest School, and a Red Carpet School.
Our students consistently demonstrate strong academic performance across grade levels. Augusta Circle’s dedicated educators implement research-based instructional practices to ensure every child reaches their full potential. Core academic supports include balanced literacy, guided math instruction, and personalized learning pathways. Targeted reading interventions are provided by trained reading interventionists to support early literacy development.
We are committed to nurturing the whole child by addressing not only academic needs but also social and emotional well-being. Our comprehensive school counseling program delivers regular guidance lessons in all classrooms, emphasizing character development, emotional resilience, and positive peer relationships. Additionally, a Greenville Mental Health counselor is available on-site to further support students’ mental health needs.
Community partnerships enhance our ability to serve students beyond the classroom. Through collaboration with Upstate Mentor, Parent Teacher Association (PTA), and School Improvement Council (SIC), we provide mentoring, family outreach initiatives, and enrichment opportunities. Our PTA leads service projects and coordinates an annual school-wide cultural immersion experience.
Augusta Circle also offers a several extracurricular activities. Music clubs—including chorus, percussion, recorder, and ukulele—are available to 4th and 5th grade students. Additional enrichment is offered through after-school programs such as Challenge Island and STEAM Club, serving students in grades 1 through 5. Our Extended Day Program supports over 80 students daily with structured activities, homework assistance, and enrichment experiences in a safe and nurturing environment.
As a professional learning community, Augusta Circle remains focused on continuous improvement in student achievement, particularly in reading and math. Our ongoing goal is to close achievement gaps and ensure equitable outcomes for all learners.
