Taylors Elementary is developing the world-class skills and life and career characteristics of the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate by providing a safe, caring, and academically challenging learning environment for all students. Our mission, Empowering Leaders Today and Tomorrow, is promoted within our learning community by teachers who are committed to student-centered instruction and the individual needs of each student.
Our primary goal of raising student achievement is facilitated by our highly-qualified professional teaching staff. The faculty provides learning experiences that engage students in a creative, rigorous, standards-based curriculum. Instruction is driven by research-based best practices and data analysis to ensure that every student has access to individualized instructional strategies. Additionally, each faculty member participates in a variety of professional development opportunities through conferences, literature reviews, graduate courses, and district facilitated trainings.
In a concentrated effort to develop world-class skills, we offer a variety of after school and enrichment programs designed to enhance the academic and social skills of students. As an official Leader In Me Lighthouse school, we focus on school-wide leadership skills and equip our students with the success skills needed to excel in school and beyond our K-12 structure. Students also have ample opportunities to participate in groups such as Covey Clubs, Student Lighthouse, Safety Patrol, Flag Patrol, Chorus, Robotics, Green Team, Student Meet and Greet Team, Girls on the Run, Run Hard, and Morning News Crew.
Our school counseling department provides a comprehensive program to all students at Taylors Elementary School. Additionally, this department has partnered with Greenville Mentoring to train mentors and pair them with students who need additional support. The Watch DOGS (Dads of Great Students) program provides positive male role models who volunteer to assist in overall school operations. Our school provides a Sensory Room and two Sensory Paths to provide structured breaks, incentives, and movement for all children.
Great things are happening at Taylors Elementary! It is a time of growth and commitment as we are Empowering Leaders for Today and Tomorrow.
