Hollis Academy is committed to helping all students develop world-class skills as well as the life and career characteristics of the Profile of the Graduate by providing a supportive learning environment where students feel welcome, valued, and eager to learn. Our school goals focus on academic achievement, professional growth, effective instruction, technology integration, and strong community relationships. Specific strategies are implemented to support the attainment of each goal. Ongoing professional development is provided to strengthen teaching skills through research-based best practices that enhance instruction and student learning.
Our students have access to a well-established, strategically planned curriculum grounded in best practices and instruction guided by ongoing assessment. Faculty and staff are highly trained in current instructional methodologies and are committed to ensuring growth for all learners. We believe students should be self-motivated problem solvers and lifelong learners who demonstrate progress toward mastery of grade-level standards. Students are encouraged to set academic goals, monitor their progress, and engage in a continuous improvement model. A wide range of academic and enrichment opportunities are available, including student council, safety patrols, chorus, Art Club, Robotics Club, HNN News Crew, STEAM Night, Math Night, and Reading Night.
Instructional technology is used as a supportive tool to enhance learning and engagement in the classroom. Teachers and students have access to classroom devices and interactive instructional tools that support daily instruction and student practice. Web-based programs such as Lexia, Amira and Alex are used to provide individualized support in reading and mathematics and to help meet the diverse learning needs of students. However, the primary focus remains on student growth, high-quality instruction, and meeting both academic and social-emotional needs.
As a community school, Hollis Academy is also committed to supporting families and meeting their needs in meaningful ways. The School Improvement Council (SIC) continues to strengthen membership and engagement while supporting the school through collaboration, input, fundraising, and volunteer efforts. Families are provided with multiple opportunities to be involved in their child’s education, share input, and build strong home-school connections. We are continuing to expand partnerships with parents and community stakeholders to ensure we are responsive to the needs of all students and families.
Hollis Academy remains dedicated to providing a successful learning environment for all students. With the support of committed staff, engaged families, and strong community partnerships, we continue working to ensure academic growth, social-emotional development, and the preparation of students as leaders for the future.
