In every classroom, students are actively engaged in meaningful, hands-on projects that allow them to learn standards through real-world experiences. Through Project-Based Learning (PBL), our students don’t just absorb content—they own their learning, developing the resilience, communication skills, and problem-solving abilities needed to thrive in a rapidly changing world.
Our teachers collaborate in high-impact Professional Learning Communities (PLCs), where they routinely analyze data, reflect on instructional practices, and refine their craft to ensure every student meets—and exceeds—South Carolina’s challenging academic standards. This collaborative approach allows us to personalize instruction and provide both daily remediation and enrichment, ensuring that every child is supported, challenged, and inspired to reach their fullest potential. Teachers are also participating in LETRS and Reading Horizons training to deepen their understanding of the science of reading and how the brain learns to read.
Guided by the CASEL framework, we are intentional about building core social-emotional competencies: self-awareness, self-management, responsible decision-making, relationship skills, and social awareness. Through a blend of whole-group lessons, morning meetings, targeted small groups, and one-on-one support, we create a safe and nurturing environment where students grow in emotional intelligence and compassion.

We proudly offer a variety of student leadership opportunities that allow children to develop their unique talents. These include chorus, a student-led news show, Junior Beta Club, Art Club, Safety Patrol, the Bridge Building Competition, and the Student Ambassador program for our Unified Champion School.
Our calendar is filled with events that celebrate and strengthen our school-family connection: PTA Spirit Nights, Patriot Day, Doughnuts with Grown-Ups, school dances, chorus concerts, Internet Safety Night, and special partnerships such as Teacher Cadet collaborations with Fountain Inn High School and their football team’s Big Men Read. Our commitment to inclusion is reflected in events like the Black History Month Read-In, annual graduation walks, and Heritage Month celebrations.
We are deeply grateful for the unwavering support of our PTA, SIC, and dedicated community partners. Organizations such as the Fountain Inn Rotary Club, The Hub, Fountain Inn Gardening Club, Miriam Foundation, Backpack Blessings, Good News Club, and Upstate Mentor enrich our school with both resources and time. Their presence—whether through Fist Bump Fridays, Happy Carts for staff, or generous financial contributions—adds immeasurable value to our school culture.
