Main Street Elementary School of Arts & Leadership: A Commitment to Excellence
At Main Street Elementary School of Arts & Leadership, we are dedicated to developing the World Class Skills outlined in the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate. Through the use of innovative teaching strategies and a strong focus on student success, we strive daily to prepare every child for academic achievement and life beyond the classroom.
While our annual school report card highlights key academic outcomes, it only tells part of the story. What truly defines Main Street Elementary is our vibrant curriculum, meaningful teacher-student relationships, wide array of enrichment opportunities, supportive school climate, engaged families, active community partnerships, and the unwavering dedication of our educators and staff. Together, these elements make Main Street Elementary a pillar of pride in our community.
Below are some of the core programs and services that reflect our ongoing commitment to excellence.

Innovative Instructional Strategies
-

-
Dedicated Intervention Time: Our master schedule includes intervention periods for each grade level to ensure every student receives the support they need without disrupting core instruction.

Data-Informed Teaching
We monitor student progress regularly through assessments such as MAP, TE21, and DRA. Data from these tools guide instructional decisions, small group placements, and timely interventions, ensuring that instruction is personalized and effective.
Leadership Development
Now in our sixth year as a Leader in Me school, Main Street fosters student empowerment through leadership roles such as safety patrol, flag squad, morning show crew, and school ambassadors. Our efforts were nationally recognized in March 2023 with Lighthouse Certification, celebrating our commitment to cultivating young leaders.
Positive School Culture through PBIS
Our school-wide expectations—Be Ready, Be Responsible, Be a Leader—anchor our Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) framework. Combined with our academic and behavioral MTSS system, PBIS helps maintain a safe, respectful, and encouraging learning environment.
Our Commitment to Excellence
At Main Street Elementary, our team of educators is committed to delivering world-class instruction that produces world-class learners. This commitment is reflected in our effective teaching, engaged students, and continuous pursuit of improvement.
We are proud of our accomplishments and excited for what lies ahead. Together, we will continue to provide the highest quality education for every child we serve.
