Flowertown Elementary School (FES) is helping all students develop the World Class Skills of the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate. We believe every child deserves a future filled with opportunity, and we are committed to working alongside students, families, staff, and community members to turn shared dreams into reality.
This year, Flowertown has continued to shine by fostering a strong, united vision of success. We actively engage our families and stakeholders through parent surveys, volunteer programs, communication logs, and community events. Our efforts have been recognized at the state level—Flowertown is proud to be the recipient of the 2021 Dick and Tunky Riley Award for SIC Excellence.
We hold high expectations for relationships, rigor, and relevance, and focus on educating the whole child—academically, socially, and emotionally. Our school environment is built on trust, support, and belonging, where students feel safe and encouraged to reach their full potential.
At Flowertown, academic excellence begins early, with strong foundational programs in English Language Arts and Math from 4K through 5th grade. We integrate technology into the learning process and provide a variety of programs tailored to different learning styles, ensuring each student is equipped for success in a rapidly changing world.
Creativity and innovation flourish at FES! Our students participate in Robotics Club, school theater productions, and Boys and Girls Track Clubs—learning to collaborate, problem-solve, and lead. These experiences develop critical thinking and real-world skills, all while building confidence and joy in learning.
We are proud to raise leaders of character. Through opportunities like our student liaison team, safety patrol, reading buddies, student news anchors, and technology helpers, students take on real responsibility and grow in leadership. Our counselors support this development with character education, life skills lessons, and special events such as Career Day and Terrific Kid celebrations.
Flowertown’s success is rooted in community. Our PTA, SIC, and Business Partners in Education make programs like our mentoring initiative, Baby Bees early learning program, and our school food bank and coat closet possible. These services help meet the needs of the whole child and ensure equity for all.
We also bring learning to life through local partnerships, including hands-on science activities like caring for chickens on campus. These authentic experiences make learning meaningful and connect academic standards to the real world.
Our teachers are passionate, skilled, and empowered. With new resources like HMH in ELA and our EXACT Path for advanced learners, students are continuously challenged and supported. At Flowertown, instruction is student-centered, future-focused, and grounded in excellence.
