Oakridge Middle School is helping all students develop the World Class Skills of the Profile of the High School Graduate by teachers working hard and collectively every day to make OMS such a success! Teachers collaborated weekly to design work for their students. Work products created by the students were presented to parents and visitors throughout the school year. Students engaged in creative activities such as Walk With The Eagles, Field day, Job Shadowing day, athletics, and several educational field trips. Several students won local and state awards throughout the school year. All of our students use a school issued I pad. Our athletic teams won four conference championships this year. Our FFA teams won several state awards. Our students developed world class skills by being involved in such activities as student council, Unified Buddies, and recycling club and conducted many service learning projects to benefit the school and community. Teachers used technology in the classroom to engage their students and have them think critically. Students were involved in other activities such as academic challenge, math counts, student council and other clubs that caused our students to use their communication skills. Character education awards were given monthly and academic excellence was celebrated quarterly. The active PTSO purchased an agenda for every student. Items for the classroom were purchased as well along with Survivor Friday t-shirts for our P.E. department. We are very proud of our students at OMS.
