E. L. Wright in partnership with the Center for Knowledge (CFK) is helping all students develop the World Class Skills of the the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate by continuing to equip teachers with the resources and professional development that enables teachers to be intentional and strategic when designing innovative and authentic learning experiences based on South Carolina State Standards. Both schools have been recognized nationally by Magnet Schools of America for magnets programs.
We are "Future Ready and Purpose Driven!" Our schools continue to offer curriculum that prepares students to college and career ready. We are committed to educationing the whole child and offer a myriad of creative educational experiences that support our students' academic, cultural and social emotional needs. The real test of achievement is being able to apply learning to real world activities. Learning experiences provide opportunities for students to apply leadership and teamwork skills. We continue to excel in building relationships and increasing academic achievement.
E. L. Wright is proud of its 62 year history because it has served the youth of its community well. We extremely proud that teachers at E. L. Wright Middle School have been recognized with several accomplishments for 2023-2024 school year. Our orchestra students received a superior rating with distinction. The Chorus program was recognized at Carowinds for an amazing performance.Two of our Band students were recognized. One received recognition for earning a position on this year's Region Band and the other student earned a position on All State Band. We are also exceptional proud of Alli Ott for receiving recognition from the SC Council on Holocaust as a Teacher Fellow. The South Carolina Music Educators Association recognized Elizabeth Gibbs, orchestra and our orchestra program with SCMEA Outstanding Performance Award. E. L. Wright also recognized our Junior Scholars for their incredible academic talents. The Center for Knowledge (CFK), a school know for the high academic achievement was recognized as a finalist for the Palmetto Finest Award.
AVID strategies and tools are utilized schoolwide. We continue to proud of our LAW magnet program for its national certification by Magnets schools of America. We continue to build a school culture that exemplifies leadership, determination and exploration. Our incredibly dedicated teaching staff keeps a laser focus on creating an academically engaging and relationship-building culture as we continue to be better at everything, every school year!
