Odyssey Online Learning (OOL) is an AdvancED accredited, public virtual charter school that provides individualized learning through a non-traditional platform. OOL is helping students develop World-Class Skills of the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate by exposing students to a rigorous academic program and to the world of work through technology integration. Odyssey Online Learning serves students from every region of the state of South Carolina.
Odyssey Online Learning is committed to providing all students with first class opportunities and experiences. Our curriculum is aligned to the South Carolina College of Career Readiness standards and meets all South Carolina academic graduation requirements. OOL partners with Edmentum to provide highly qualified South Carolina teachers to implement a curriculum that enhances each student’s development in the areas of academic aptitude, technology integration, and work competencies. Odyssey Online Learning offers an array of student services to support the learner's engagement and to ensure overall academic success.
Additionally, OOL offers multiple options for students with varied learning needs to achieve world class knowledge. An accelerated curriculum, AP classes and Dual Enrollment/Credit are available for students working above the average. Our Special Education department serves students according to an Individualized Education Plan. In addition, our guidance department supports students with 504 plans to ensure accommodations are implemented in the general education setting.
Odyssey Online Learning’s school counselors implement a comprehensive guidance model in tandem with our multiple elective career cluster tracks to help all students become college and career ready. Electives in career clusters such as Arts, Humanities, and Communication, Business Management, Information Systems, Law and Public Service, and Healthcare and Human Services offer opportunities for OOL students to pursue individual career goals while building life and career characteristics to use in the world of work. These interactions prepare our students to compete globally.
The success of our students reflects the commitment of our teachers and staff. We are fortunate to have an active, student-centered district office staff and board of trustees. Through monthly Professional Learning Community meetings as well as quarterly professional development, our staff has developed ways to ensure we are reaching the needs all students and families within our school. It is our goal to continually provide opportunities to instill core values to define and emerge purpose in the lives of our students. Every decision made at Odyssey Online Learning is focused on the opportunity for each student to be actively involved in their own education, improve problem-solving skills, and expand their overall content knowledge, while developing the skills necessary to be a world class member of South Carolina and the world’s future workforce.
