Midlands Middle College (MMC) is a public charter high school serving grades 10 - 12. Our location on the Airport campus of Midlands Technical College provides our students the opportunity to complete their high school education in a higher education setting creating a stronger sense of pride and focus. MMC provides a world class education to every student who enrolls in our program. The relationships our staff cultivates with students are a powerful tool to help them create a sense of belonging, ownership of their learning, and becoming productive citizens in their communities. MMC believes that it is of utmost importance for students to obtain their state high school diploma whether in the traditional four years or longer.
MMC students gain world class knowledge through our rigorous and relevant academic program designed with student- centered learning in mind. Students are challenged to succeed in their academic classes and meet high achievement standards. MMC focuses on developing the math and English skills needed to continue successfully through higher education and/or career paths. MMC offers immersive dual enrollment courses through Midlands Technical College further challenging students. This program is intended to help our students learn to navigate the post-secondary setting while obtaining free college credits. Students have the opportunity to earn certificates and/or associate's degrees while in high school.
MMC students develop world class skills through our focus on preparing students for today’s workforce as a result of modeling expectations in our classes. Teachers have the autonomy to utilize creative and innovative teaching methods in the classroom breeding increased academic achievement and student participation. MMC places a high importance on self-advocacy inside and outside the classroom. Students are taught collaboration and teamwork throughout all activities across the school setting including labs, projects, field studies, service learning opportunities, internships, and apprenticeships.
MMC students develop world class characteristics through our focus on character development. Soft skills are woven into every facet of MMC teaching students the importance of integrity, honesty, and hard work. MMC supports students in developing perseverance and a strong work ethic by helping them realize they can achieve more than they think with the right mindset. MMC students are taught respect and honor for themselves and others.
By developing the world class skills of the Profile of the High School Graduate, we are successfully bridging students from high school to their chosen post-secondary outcome whether that be college, career, or military.
