Through Teaching and Learning Teams (TLTs), educators work cohesively to create learning experiences that engage students in the learning process and meet the needs of each learner. Our teachers work to unpack standards and create clear learning intentions and success criteria. Formative assessments drive our differentiated instruction. Our grade-level TLT teams collaborate to calibrate student work, ensuring effective progression on the learning journey. Collaboration is fundamental to our belief in developing the whole child at SRE. It is supported by various enriching activities such as Terrific Kids, GT Art, SRES Chorus, Panda Partners, Positive Pandas, and more.
Our staff emphasizes authentic learning opportunities to enhance student readiness and develop world-class skills. We strive to differentiate learning based on individual student needs and work to cultivate critical thinkers, problem solvers, and leaders. Teachers collaboratively create success criteria that include learning targets and then design common formative assessments. We use the data to personalize learning for our students. Students also participate in STEM activities that promote teamwork and communication skills.
Technology is also essential to our academic success. All kindergarten to fifth-grade students utilize iPads for independent work, collaborative assignments, and research projects. Through platforms like iReady, students target specific skills and standards to support their growth as learners. Our school continues to offer interventions for reading and math and enrichment opportunities for all students. Response to Intervention (RTI) and Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) are implemented to ensure students' academic success.
Effective communication among all stakeholders is crucial to maintaining a vibrant school community. We keep stakeholders well-informed through weekly school messages, newsletters, staff updates, SeeSaw, social media, and the school message board. Engaging stakeholders in school events such as the Veterans Day Program and Awards Days strengthens our community bonds and enriches the educational experience for students, families, and community members.
