Watkins-Nance Elementary School is devoted to creating a welcoming educational environment that is safe, inclusive, and conducive to the overall growth of all students. We are helping all students develop the World Class Skills of the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate by being committed to collaborating with families and community partners and creating a school culture that encourages and supports student success and prepares them for future opportunities.
Our staff comprises thirty-five certified staff members and sixteen classified staff members. Two members of the leadership team hold doctoral degrees. The faculty and staff at Watkins-Nance continuously participate in professional development opportunities to provide students with the highest-quality instruction available.
Our School Improvement Council and our leadership team consistently encourage parental involvement and active engagement in our students' education. Quarterly parent events allow all parents to participate in various workshops that teach them instructional strategies and practices that best support learning.
Community and parental events such as Real Men Read, Real Women Read, Grandparents' Day, Literacy Nights, Math Nights, STEM Nights, and AVID Empowerment Summits offer ample opportunities for collaboration and growth.
As a staff, we will continue to be committed to professional growth and will continue to provide parents and community members with the opportunity to collaborate to ensure that students are supported from all angles.
