Aynor Elementary School is helping all students develop the World Class Skills of the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate by providing opportunities that challenge students in the areas of academic, personal, physical, and social development. Driven by SC State Standards, our staff provides a rigorous curriculum in all subject areas.
Our instructional programs provide opportunities for acceleration, remediation, and enrichment. All students in grades CD-5 have personal learning devices which grant them access literacy and mathematics digital learning content programs such as Achieve3000, Lexia, and ALEKS. Personal learning devices also provide access to digital learning platforms like Google Classroom, Schoology, & SeeSaw. As our teachers and staff grow and work together, they continue to develop their skills by participating in professional development activities and focusing on instructional strategies to improve student achievement in all subjects. During our grade-level Professional Learning Communities, teachers, instructional coaches and administrators develop strategies for addressing student weaknesses, enriching the learning process and challenging students based on our students' PALS, Dibels, MAP, and SC Ready and SC PASS data.
Our desire is to work closely with all members of the school’s community. We accomplish this through our parent and community volunteers. Our PTO sponsors activities throughout the year such as our Father-Daughter Dance, Grits for Grandparents, Doughnuts for Dads, Muffins for Moms, as well as other events. We highlighted our students’ talents during performances by our Blue Pan Jam and AES Drum Band, as well as grade level music programs. We worked closely with area churches to sponsor a Thanksgiving Food Drive and the Christmas Angel Tree project to provide essential items students may need.
We are committed to promoting a school environment conducive to learning and growing together. This can be accomplished through the continued support and input from our parents, staff, students and community. It is also supported by the Blue Jacket Best Life Skill Leader of the Week, our character education program.
We look forward to the 2024-2025 school year and all its challenges and opportunities. We will continue to prepare our students to be 21st century learners and leaders by focusing on individual growth and needs of each student.
Aynor Elementary is a great place to learn and grow. Thank you for trusting us to educate your child to be the best that he/she can be!
