This year, teachers had opportunities for professional growth in the targeted areas of Professional Learning Communities, Capturing Kids Hearts, Rime Magic, Math in Practice and Professional Learning Communities. Community partnerships, such as Welcome Baptist Church, KEYS (formerly the Cura Foundation), Cliffs Residents Outreach, Balloon Envy, Greenville County Sheriff's Office, Parker Fire Department, Call Me MISTER Program, OnTrack Greenville, etc. have had a tremendous impact on our school. These partnerships are essential in allowing us to support the needs of our students.
As a Title I school, we offer many exciting family partnership events such as Pastries with Parents and Loved Ones, Fang’s Spring Fling, Spookly the Pumpkin event, Gingerbread Literacy, and Hispanic Heritage Night. Each of these events are historically well attended by our school community. We also provide a Family Resource Room in which parents can check out literacy and math activities for use at home with their child. The number of parent volunteers has also increased allowing us to enhance the resources available to the community, such as the provision of Rosetta Stone to Hispanic families.
At Welcome Elementary, we believe that every student can succeed. We are grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with parents, our partners, and the community in an effort to ensure that every student has access to a world of possibilities.
At Welcome we are #WelcomeStrong
