Sara Collins Elementary is helping all students develop World Class Skills of the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate by providing a quality international education to all students in kindergarten through fifth grade. We exemplify this in our school motto, "Our Children Are Our World."
Our mission of the SCE family is to create an environment where all students will grow academically, socially, and emotionally. The vision of the SCE family is to maintain a safe, inclusive, collaborative environment that upholds high standards while supporting the needs of all students. Our school includes students with all kinds of abilities. Our emphasis on international education includes Spanish instruction in grades first through fifth. Technology is an integral part of our resources since all students have personal devices and access to a variety of educational software programs. Students participate in virtual field trips to connect with many other places in the world. We believe our school is the most exciting learning community in Greenville County!
Sara Collins Elementary and the staff have been recognized for their achievements and accomplishments on local, state and national levels. As part of Greenville County School’s district accreditation Sara Collins has been nationally accredited by AdvancED. Our PTA is supportive and has earned numerous awards. We form productive partnerships with parents and community by promoting programs that connect students and volunteers in learning environments. Sara Collins was one of three schools in the state to be awarded the Palmetto Finest award in 1978 when the recognition began. In 2013, we received the South Carolina Red Carpet Award for the second time. We have been awarded the Safe Schools Award multiple times, Village Green School, and Redbook Magazine Awards. Our LEGO Robotics Team won the Core Values Award in 2024 when participating at the Lego World's competition in Houston, Texas. We are a school with emphasis on social and emotional wellness and nutrition. Our school has been recognized and awarded a grant by LiveWell Greenville for our efforts toward health and wellness. We participate in a variety of service projects which include raising funds and collecting goods to donate and "pay it forward" to others.
We have a long, proud tradition at Sara Collins Elementary for providing a safe, caring environment and a strong educational program for all our students. We will continue to build on that tradition as we prepare students for a successful future.
