North Vista Elementary School is dedicated to ensuring that all students attain the skills needed to demonstrate World Class Skills and Competencies of the Profile of the SC Graduate. The students and staff work diligently to enhance the skills of reading critically, learning independently, expressing ideas, investigating through inquiry, and engaging as citizens. Engaging and effective instruction are paramount for student achievement and remain a top priority at North Vista. To keep abreast of new developments in teaching and learning, our certified staff participates in weekly professional development to continually sharpen their skills and broaden their knowledge relating to SC Standards and best practices. These collaborative sessions enable teachers to plan and execute rigorous and authentic learning experiences that motivate students and challenge them to grow.
North Vista Elementary uses data from a variety of assessments, such as LinkIt and STAR Assessments, to drive decision-making related to curriculum and instruction. Our academic programs are supported by research and provide an exemplary student-centered educational experience. Programs such as Leveled Literacy Intervention, Orton-Gillingham, Spanish classes and STEAM Labs provide academic enrichment. School based interventions such as Reading and Math Interventionists, Tiger Cub Academy, and Morning Masters along with online programs such as Dreambox and Lexia provide academic support to students in the areas of ELA and Math.
Our community and stakeholders, including North Vista School Improvement Council, Parent Teacher Organization, and School Leadership team, developed and supported goals for student improvement and teacher satisfaction for the 2023-2024 school year. North Vista Elementary is committed to continued efforts with our community members and stakeholders for the success of our school. We will continue to work to increase parent and community involvement as we strive for excellence.
