Our school is helping all students develop the World Class Skills of the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate by inspiring our students to dream big dreams and equipping them to do great things.
Graniteville Elementary has been continuing our path to greatness this year. We started the year off revising our mission and vision statement. It is our vision to inspire and equip students to dream big dreams and do great things. In August and October, parents were able to meet the teachers and attend parent conferences to discuss grade level expectations and progress. We changed things up this year and had Field Day in the Fall before Thanksgiving Break. Also in November, we had our Family Camp Out - Literacy Night including our Book Fair and PTO Silent Auction. In December, we celebrated our Second Annual Holiday King and Queen and our kings and queens participated in the Graniteville parade. This PTO sponsored activity raised more than $8,000 for our school. Second semester activities included our first ever Career Day, Family Game Night, our 80s Family Dance Party and numerous field trips. Students were able to travel to Ruth Patrick Center, Aiken Symphony, Audubon Center, Bridgestone / Firestone, Augusta Canal, and Eudora Farms, just to name a few of the places that our students were able to experience. This year we continue to build our PTO and School Improvement Council and encourage families to get involved in school activities. We know that our partnerships with families and the community will continue to propel us towards greatness. At Graniteville Elementary, the thing that sets us apart is a strong sense of community paired with our commitment to academic excellence. We look forward to the future with expectations of a path of excellence. We know that if we all strive for greatness, we will #begreat. Our focus at GVES is teaching and learning everyday with an emphasis on getting the little things right. That means we strive for our students to be fluent in both reading and math. It is our aim that we equip our students to achieve whatever they can dream. As we look toward our future we will not take for granted the opportunities that we have to learn together and we will continue to answer the call to teaching and learning everyday while getting the little things right.
