Our school is helping all students develop world class skills, as well as the life and career characteristics of the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate by providing a rigorous program of study that is, “Preparing for Success in a Changing World”. As a STEAM school we approach learning that employs project based learning to engage students in problem solving in real world situations. Many of our students are recognized for academic accomplishments including over 200 Beta Club members and 10 Junior Scholars. For the 2018-2019 school year we offered three classes for high school credit, Algebra 1, English 9 and Geometry in which 62 students were enrolled.
Performing Arts students in Band, Chorus and Orchestra have participated in various district and state events, concert festivals and honor choirs which have earned them Superior and Superior with Distinction ratings. Many of our students have had their artwork displayed within the school and/or district as well as locally.
Our students participated in several service projects to benefit local communities of Spartanburg County. Student Council sponsors and orchestrates an annual canned food drive as well as raising money for United Way, Mobile Meals and Relay for Life.
At Fairforest Middle, our students are taught the importance of college and career readiness. A college and career awareness assembly for our eight graders is held at Dorman High School to emphasize and elaborate on the importance of forward-thinking. All students participate in S.C. Occupational Informational System to provide up-to-date educational and career information.
Success and achievement would not be possible without the support of our outstanding school community, parents, business partners, SIC and district leaders.
Thank you again for your continued support of your child and of Fairforest Middle. We remain so very grateful to you.
Sincerely,
Darrell Belgrave, Principal
Barbara Asselin, School Improvement Council Chair
