E. L. Wright is home of two nationally certified magnet programs.  Recognized by Magnet Schools of America, the International Baccalaureate (IB) Program and the Leadership Academy at Wright (LAW) both offer a challenging themed curriculum. E. L. Wright continues to be a school that promotes personal and academic achievement with high expectations for all students to succeed and achieve with a focus on career and college readiness.

Using the framework of the profile of the South Carolina Graduate, E. L. Wright continues to provide our students with a world class knowledge base and world class skills. Students are also provided with learning experiences that help them develop life and career characteristics.

Our amazing teachers kept an intentional focus on “Best Practice” strategies to support academic achievement goals. As a result of this, we have seen significant gains in our students’ mastery of English language arts and math standards as measured by SC Ready and MAP assessments. Data trends over the last three years show a continuous progression of growth with significant growth during this last year.

Teachers collaborated to create thought provoking lessons that promoted student collaboration, develop critically thinking and problem solving skills.  AVID strategies were used to help students to develop the skills they that need to be successful not only in college, but also in the real world. To help students excel in a global society, all of our students have the option of taking a foreign language. French and Spanish are both offered. Diverse curricular units were developed and taught to encourage students to make practical connections with their studies and the real world.
